The COLLOMB family: 110 years of expertise in the hotel business
“My family has lived in Alpe d’Huez for almost 110 years and was one of those who founded the place.
Each generation of the Collomb family has embraced modernity, supporting both developments in winter sports, right from their early days, and developments within the resort.
We accommodate generation after generation of families and groups, offering them a genuinely warm, homely and professional welcome.
My grandfather Clotaire Collomb (several times Mayor of Alpe d’Huez) and my father Hubert were amongst those who built what is now the main building of the Les Grandes Rousses hotel. In the design stages, a large number of innovations were planned: a swimming pool heated by solar power since 1976, spacious rooms well above standard size, a private ski-lift...
Following several years during which the hotel was run by a third party, we took over again in February 2012 and decided to give GRANDES ROUSSES a new lease of life by providing new amenities and selecting a team who are spontaneous rather than regimented.
We aim to satisfy your every need during your stay, because, for generations, we have been accommodating the grandchildren of children who, themselves, once ran along the hotel’s corridors. We are happy to see them keep coming back and putting smiles on their faces is more important to us than putting another star beside our name.
If you have any suggestions about how we can improve the hotel, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Welcome to Alpe d’Huez and welcome to Grandes Rousses!”
