This summer, Alpe d'Huez invites you to experience some intense moments through a programme rich in sporting challenges, festivities and traditions.
Thursday, June 4, 2026 — Alpe d’Huzes: 5,000 cyclists, riding solo or in teams, will take on the challenge of climbing Alpe d’Huez and its legendary 21 bends up to six times in a single day. This charity event aims to raise funds for the KWF cancer foundation to support cancer research and treatment.
Sunday, June 28, 2026 — Marmotte Granfondo: The Marmotte Granfondo is an iconic cycling sportive linking Bourg-d’Oisans to Alpe d’Huez over a demanding 180 km route with nearly 5,000 meters of elevation gain. Riders tackle several legendary Alpine passes before finishing on the famous 21 bends climb.
Saturday, July 4, 2026 — Pop in the City: Pop In The City is a 100% female adventure race run in teams of two, designed to discover destinations in a fun and original way. For the first time, the event will take place in Alpe d’Huez with a mix of sporting, cultural and creative challenges.
From Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, 2026 — Mégavalanche: Mégavalanche is a legendary mass-start downhill mountain bike race, famous for its spectacular glacier start. Riders then face a long and technical descent through snow, rocks and alpine trails in often extreme conditions.
From Saturday, July 11 to Tuesday, July 14, 2026 — Fitness Convention: The Fitness Convention is a major event dedicated to sport, dance and wellness. For its 22nd edition, participants will enjoy a wide variety of classes led by internationally renowned fitness instructors and coaches.
Sunday, July 19, 2026 — Étape du Tour: Nearly 16,000 cyclists will start from Bourg-d’Oisans for a challenging 170 km route with 5,400 meters of elevation gain. The course includes legendary climbs such as the Croix de Fer, Télégraphe and Galibier before finishing in Alpe d’Huez via the Col de Sarenne.
Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25, 2026 — Tour de France 2026: The Tour de France will make a spectacular return to Alpe d’Huez with two exceptional stages in two days. Riders will first reach Alpe d’Huez from Gap before starting from Bourg-d’Oisans the following day for a dramatic finish via the Col de Sarenne.
